Triple Play: baby back ribs, chicken tenders, grilled or fried shrimp.

I’ve been enjoying Glory Days in Centreville since it opened. I first started going because it allowed me to enjoy adult conversation at a restaurant when my boys were little. It was one of the few times I let the boys watch TV while eating dinner, and they in turn let me have uninterrupted girl-talk. When the boys got older, we would go for “Wing Night” on Wednesdays–the unofficial gathering night at the time for Centreville High Schoolers.

Now we go because it is one of the best places to watch local sports teams. During football season, the place is packed on Saturdays for college games and on Sundays for Redskins games. (and Steelers games…who knew there were so many Steelers fans in the area?!) I love going to Caps games at the Verizon Center because the fans are so vocal, and the energy level is so high. If you can’t get downtown for a game, Glory Days is the next best thing.

Kevin, bartender and local "Horn Guy"

Kevin, one of the bartenders, acting as our resident “Horn Guy,” starts each game with the familiar three blasts on the vuvuzela. The whole restaurant erupts in an enthusiastic, “Let’s Go Caps,” complete with claps and foot stomps. Even if you’re not a Caps fan, you can’t help but join in on the fun! Don’t be afraid to ask Kevin, or any of the staff, anything about the local teams. They are a wealth of information and are happy to share it!

Glory Days is celebrating their 15 year anniversary with Tuesday Pint Nights. As the ad says, “buy the draft, keep the glass.” If you order a pint of any draft beer, you get a free 15 year anniversary commemorative pint glass with the Glory Days logo to bring home. The logo comes in yellow, red, and blue. Go each Tuesday night and collect all three colors! One glass per person, per night, but extra glasses can be purchased for $4 each.

Raun, bartender and Guinness artist

Raun, one of the bartenders, has been perfecting his Guinness pour–creating the signature four-leaf clover in the draft pictured above before he serves it.

Whether you come for the great food, the great service, or the great venue to watch your favorite team, you won’t be disappointed with a stop in to local favorite, Glory Days.
