The Front Row–Friday, May 20, 7:30pm and Saturday, May 21, 10:00am – 2:00pm, Bethesda Row. Don’t miss our signature runway event Friday, featuring a special appearance by Kelly Cutrone, fashion PR maverick, star of TV’s Kell on Earth, The City and The Hills. Meet Kelly as she signs her new book, Normal Gets You Nowhere, at 5 p.m. on Bethesda Lane. Then join us in the front row as we showcase designer looks from Bethesda Row’s boutiques, including an exclusive look at Fall 2011.

Fiesta Asia Street Fair–Saturday, May 21, 10:00am – 7:00pm, Pennsylvania Avenue between 3rd and 6th. We are so excited to present the 6th Annual national Asian Heritage Festival! Scores of events, programming, activities, and performances, to celebrate our rich and diverse Asian Heritage.

Life in Civil War Alexandria–Saturday, May 21, 2:00pm – 5:00pm, Market Square. Discover how Alexandria was transformed by the Civil War at this extensive living history event on the weekend of the 150th anniversary of Alexandria’s occupation by Union troops. This kick-off to Alexandria’s Civil War Commemoration features an opening ceremony, music by the Federal City Brass Band, Robert E. Lee, a Civil War photographer, an army surgeon, a U.S. Military Railroad portrayal, the Victorian Dance Ensemble, Union and Confederate soldiers, African American civilian impressions, and more.

Andrews Air Show–Saturday, May 21, and Sunday, May 22, 8:00am – 5:00pm. A local favorite! Joint Service Open House featuring the Thunderbirds, the Golden Knights,  ETeam skydivers, the Smoke and Thunder jet car, Sean Tucker in the Oracle, F/A-18 Hornet, the A-10 Thunderbolt, and other exciting aerial and ground attractions. Admission is free.

Sunday

Bob Dylan Tribute on His 70th Birthday–Sunday, May 22, 7:00pm, Jammin’ Java. Celebrate folk legend Bob Dylan’s 70th birthday with 4 of D.C.’s own singer/songwriters. Luke Brindley, Todd Wright, Anthony Fiacco, and Shane Hines pay tribute to the voice of a generation, his poetic lyrics and his profound impact on American culture. You’ll hear some of the songs that earned Dylan a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as well as Grammys, Oscars and a Pulitzer. It’s an intimate, stripped-down setting, with the best local musicians sharing stories and playing Dylan songs and their own.

Handmade Mart–Sunday, May 22, 10:00am – 5:00pm, Silver Spring. The Handmade Mart is an annual, juried, independent craft fair that takes place in Downtown Silver Spring, Maryland on Ellsworth Drive (Between Fenton & Georgia Avenue). Handmade Mart has already become a mainstay of the local art scene with 60+ craft vendors selling handmade goods, live music, and hands-on workshops.

Israel Festival–Sunday, May 22, 2:00pm – 6:00pm, Jewish Community Center of Greater Washington. Celebrate Israel’s birthday with family and friends. Don’t miss this amazing celebration where all entertainment and activities are free! Live performance by Axum, “Israel’s biggest hip hop hope.”
